MIN RIVER Hall — 《Glistening River, Ceramic Reflections》
"The Min River's surface shimmers, its emerald banks reflected within."

Drawing inspiration from Fuzhou's historic and culturally rich mother river, the Min River, this grand ceramic art wall greets visitors upon entering the hall, transforming the river's nocturnal beauty into a flowing, panoramic scroll. The composition masterfully depicts the winding Min River, its vibrant banks, the graceful bridges, and the dazzling cityscape, all rendered with a perspective that draws the viewer into its poetic scenery, offering a unique cultural immersion.
"Glistening River, Ceramic Reflections" is crafted using traditional Jingdezhen hand-forming techniques. It features 30 distinct kiln-fired glazes, fired at an intense 1320°C. To capture the Min River's majestic vastness and breathtaking beauty, we specially developed 13 shades of "celadon blue." These hues interplay, with warm and cool tones, deep and shallow depths, and the high-temperature glazes flow organically, creating unique, dynamic surface effects. Each ceramic tile is a story, a landscape, a tribute to the mother river that nurtured Fuzhou, reflecting the city's glistening natural beauty and showcasing the wisdom and cultural depth of its people.
The entire artwork comprises over 8,000 meticulously arranged ceramic tiles of various sizes. Each tile is a unique creation by the artist, with the kiln-fired glazes yielding unpredictable, one-of-a-kind results. When artfully assembled, they form a romantic and poetic panorama of the Min River. Light and shadow dance across the ceramic surfaces, seemingly capturing the sparkling reflections on the river's expanse and the swaying greenery along its banks. This art piece masterfully blends traditional and contemporary elements, presenting a unique aesthetic that honors China's traditional craftsmanship while demonstrating contemporary art's interpretation and application of classic materials and techniques. It is, ultimately, a paean to Fuzhou's natural splendor.
"Glistening River, Ceramic Reflections" serves as a bridge connecting past and future, nature and culture, tradition and innovation. It not only elevates the artistic ambiance of the public space but also links history with modernity, and the natural world with humanistic spirit. We invite viewers to experience the gentle, flowing charm of the Min River within each ceramic tile, inspiring a deep appreciation for both nature and art.
